New Season Starts
So to a new season with all expectations very high. This will be a very momentous for the season as it is the first in which the league has adopted the 11-up scoring method.
Title holders Werneth Cricket Club will be hard pushed to defend their title with individual closed champion Darryl Meredith only being available occasionally. Title favourites could be Stamford 'A'. The second division has changed markedly with teams being promoted from the third division and relegated from the second, the relegated Stanford 'D' team should figure strongly. The average age of the third division has dropped a great deal due to the promotion of the Hyde YMCA 'B' and St Raphael's teams and the new teams of Stamford 'E', Stamford 'F' and 1st Denton 'B' all of whom are 'junior' teams.
